Another thing to consider is whether you're setting up a fake front by involving your wife. Some people use their partner as a way to try to convince themselves the newly forming relationship is safe and out in the open when subconsciously they know the choppy waters they intend on navigating. To those people, I'd recommend start being honest with themselves. Brutally honest. It's not difficult peel back the layers when we stop lying to ourselves.

I'm glad everything went well and you have a lot of insight. I had similar issues recently with a younger coworker who went out of his way to touch me among other things. In this case, he's a touchy sort of person and they're out there lol.

Sorry to hear your grandfather passed away.

I lost two parents and moved to a new location leaving a child behind in the span of 2.5 months. Plus other stressors. Lets just say 2022 has been a f&kwit year lol

In these times it's important to look after our own mental well-being. Take care!

Good to hear that it all worked out and even better that your SO was included. :D

Your description of the typical anxious-avoidant dynamic would fit my LE exactly. Me as anxious and LO as avoidant. Both types fear abandonment. Classic push-pull arrangement and painful as hell for both involved.

It takes a lot of inner work on oneself to overcome this, as there are many layers to get through before tackling the abandonment issues, which often begins in childhood. It's not by any means, easy work, but it is worthwhile and freeing. I would like to have a secure attachment and this is still a work in progress. :)

I am wondering if it would be a possibility for you and SO to discuss this honestly, perhaps in a therapeutic setting. From my experience, it seems that that affairs are more likely to occur within this dynamic, on both sides of the coin.

My condolences to you for the recent loss.
Never give up! Keep moving forward, no matter what.
