Better Money Thread

Post by JupiterTaco »

I just thought something like this would be cool, where we could share articles about ways to make, spend and save money smarter. For those of you on Facebook, The Penny Pincher, Work & Money and RD are good places with that. I mean as well as CNN Money, I think every major news site online has one, but anyway here are some articles I've seen recently:

Become a minimalist...
need less, spend less on crap you don't need , save more for the few things you really want. Money you don't spend is money in your pocket.

This is the blog I have been following for the past 8 months to get my inspirations: , but there are others as well..

Great thread!
I've recently been looking into investments for retirement (I'm 35 trying to think ahead lol)
For fellow canadians here get a TFSA (Tax Free Savings Account) you can hold stocks, GIC's, ETF's etc and all gains are tax exempt (uncle sam cant touch it).
For Americans here I believe its called a Roth IRA. Its never too early or late to start saving!
Other people make excellent mirrors.

Republic cell phones whooo! If I can transfer my number it'll be a whole hundred dollars cheaper! (I would prefer to not have a cell phone period since I hate them so much but I'm being realistic here...) :))

From single mother in poverty to successful real estate agent/investor in (tough) niche market;

Tony Robbins 7 Simple Steps To Financial Freedom; I think what struck me was the part where he talks about how he gave his only money to a family who needed it more, not knowing where his next meal was coming from; that's very powerful!
