Love and Rockets : “So Alive”

Don’t know what color your eyes are baby,

But your hair is long and brown.

Your legs are strong, and they’re so so long,

And you don’t come from this town.........

I feel I’m on on top again baby ,

That’s got everything to do with you!!......... \m/

Not exactly about limerence per se, but “Synchronicity 2” by the Police has me intrigued atm. I heard it yesterday and read the lyrics afterwards. It’s about a working class family where the father is bored and frustrated with life. There is reference to a creature growing from the slime at the bottom of a lake. This creature can be a metaphor for limerence as it grows and comes up to cottage on the shore of a dark Scottish lake........ many miles away....

How I got my screen name. This is a song about a jealous Ocean that separates two lovers so he could have "her" for himself. For me the meaning is two-fold: the deep grief that Anna, the woman, feels because she can never be with her lover again which mirrors the deep grief I feel for wanting an unreachable and unobtainable LO; the rage and jealousy of the Ocean that mirrors the selfishness and wrath of limerence itself, and its desire to destroy anything in its path (marriages, friendships, jobs, sanity) to fully be expressed.
They are not responding to you and you are not responding to them. *-:)
