"Acceptance of the seemingly unacceptable"
Much of my misery at the height of my LE/ Iimerence experience were ruminating thoughts. Here is a concise explanation of how to sit with those feelings and allow or surrender to them.
Once you recognize that you are covering an emotion with these thoughts.... which feels so intense because it comes from a part of your soul you've not dared to look at, you are on the right path. Your heart is telling you to look within. You will find answers and peace as you open yourself up to uncovering attachment wounds and fears which have not been addressed.
Be patient and don't expect it all to fall into place or to fix the ruminating thoughts in a weekend. It takes patience and not denying the truth as you uncover the not so pretty along the way.

....and especially since we live in a culture that values controlling your emotions with your thoughts, undoing this tendency will in some ways be going counter to our cultural upbringing: Getting underneath the brain chatter and story-telling and valuing our emotions over our thoughts for a change.

Good stuff, Spin.
I like how he says that it's not the FEELING that can kill us, but if we let that get into our thoughts, it can be fatal.
