Our second meeting last night went well with a 100% increase in participants (from zero to one) ;)

I wonder what the resistance is? Is it the day and time? Most folk here are across the pond. would a weekend be better, perhaps late afternoon in the UK which would be day time in the US of A?

Also would telephone call in be better as opposed to skype? that way no PC is needed although skype can be accessed on smartphones.

Im happy to try and be flexible to get this off the ground as i reckon it could be a valuable resource for additional support.

I was asked WIIFM? Nothing more than giving back and helping others, same reason for setting up this site. It gives me ego strokes. :o

thanks for the offer of support lima_rance. - much appreciated

am curious about the inability to PM for new users - may be takes 2 postings to move from newly registered to user before can PM?

Ill look at sending out PM to all users

Not sure what may have gone wrong.
memberlist.php?mode=group&g=7
memberlist.php?g=7&mode=group&sk=d&sd=d#memberlist shows several users who are still stuck without the PM ability.

thxs, yes i looked at this a few days ago and the feature was already set to zero to deactivate the newly registered users group. . All the members of the newly registered group are also members of registered users as well (i think).

I tried to move all these members out of the newly registered group - apart from deleting them there was no easy way. all these members have posted less than twice (apart from the top two which is very odd) . It seems a setting that cant be removed whereby any new member is automatically added to the new members group irrespective of the settings on the admin side of the board

If I didn't have to work, I'd "attend".
