A common and understandable desire, can it work?

"You" already can't tell.
It's already bad, but because you can't tell you've no hope of stopping it getting worse.
Does it matter? Depends on who you are.
I've no interest in being argued with or dismissed as you all engage your defenses, so I'll just leave the smarter among you to cogitate on what you already cannot 'tell' in the media/digital world and the implications.

Depends if you find the discomfort of being conscious of something greater than being unconscious of everything.
For what it's worth, it always matters.
