The perils of infidelity

Post by Spinnaker » Sat Sep 22, 2018 6:27 pm

Not sure if this video had been posted before, but thought I’d share today. Esther Perel touches in key areas of betrayal and the emotional trauma experienced by the betrayed spouse.

I recently shared this same video (above) w/ Maddie. I watched this as I was coming out of my affair fog ...and it helped SO and I greatly by humanizing this whole experience. I think the number of views is very telling. It is a very popular video on YouTube!

If anyone wants more Esther content or to better understand her POV, this interview by Chris Cuomo is 90 minutes, but well worth it. This is an interview about her latest book, which David read and reviewed here in the forum.

Good stuff and parts of it are funny too.:

exLO M, 54, single coworker
LE began June 2016 | EA/PA followed for 1 yr
LC/NC started 6/18/2017 and continues (at work)
Disclosed all and reconciled with SO

For my story if interested:

Just now getting to this, and Ty Reeled for sharing it months before. That was wonderful!! I love her questions like "what did this affair mean to me?"
Also gives hope to an improved marriage post affair- increased desire, fear of loss, reignited passion, self discovery. Good stuff!!
