I love alternative rock too! She's great...and beautiful.
She is! She's a pistol! Going to see them with Blondie this summer and I can't wait! Other than Veruca Salt, Garbage is my favourite band.

I often find myself singing these lyrics by Roger Miller when I'm trying to work my way through LE:

You can't roller-skate in a buffalo herd
You can't roller-skate in a buffalo herd
You can't roller-skate in a buffalo herd
But you can be happy if you've a mind to

All you've gotta do
Is knuckle down to it
Knuckle down buckle down
Do it do it do it!

You can't take a shower in a parakeet cage.....etc

It reminds me of the stupidity of constantly focusing on the impossible instead of turning around and tackling the difficult but positive task of finding your own happiness. Do it do it do it :-D

O man! Take heed!
What saith deep midnight, indeed?
"I lay asleep, asleep—
I waked from my deep dream.
The world is deep,
And deeper than even day may dream.
Deep is its woe—
Joy— deeper yet than woe is she:
Saith woe: 'Hence! Go!'
Yet joy would have eternity,
—Profound, profound eternity!"O man! Take heed!
Thus Spoke Zarathustra by Friedrich Nietzsche.
