Song that Describes your LE/LO

Post by AMA210 » Tue Dec 13, 2016 3:25 am

With or Without You, U2

"See the stone set in your eyes.....I wait for you
You gave it all, but I want more......
"I can't live with or without you......and you give yourself away and you give, and you give....
Nothing to win and nothing left to lose"
53 years old, married for 27 years
LE was 22 months and LO works four blocks from my home

"Always moving forward"

That's a great song, one of U2's best.

For me it's Johnny Delusional by FFS

"Though I want you,
I know I haven't a chance
Still I want you,
Johnny Delusional here"

I don't know that this is about my LO, but this is the best song I've heard about limerence. It uses the metaphor of an outgunned but persistent guerilla army to stand for limerence, which is brilliant, and runs with that. And it's catchy and has a great beat!

Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPdNGj_RAeY

Fists Up! by The Blow

"I have tried
My hopes have blossomed
And my hopes have fried
I tried to cut them all down
But I found hopes were still living deep inside
Like a team of renegade lovers
Working long hours sneaking around
With a belief in the life of our love
Like a light at the end
Of a long tunnel; a struggle

Fists up!
For all their faith in one preceding a face
They really do believe that if
They hang on long enough
That you'll come around
And finally let it show
And all their hopes will be rewarded
For their impetus to grow
And utopian peace would fall across the land
You'll reach over for my hand
You'll really want to hold my hand

[Bridge]
And I don't want to come to the point of this song
Because the point of this song
Would have to be so long

It gets hard:
The vigilantes can't agree on who's in charge
They gave their souls for the cause
But the love that they were after's still at large
See this faith in which they found allegiance
Ripping at the seams as hope is running it's course
The rebels just can't muster the force
To walk the thin line between belief and delusion

[Chorus]

[Bridge]

It was perfect you know
With just one little problem
The fact that it turns out
You don't really want it
My love is a fortress
My love is the Louvre
But it can't ever thrive
If I'm forced to keep proving it

This song says it all... by Lady Gaga - Perfect Illusion

Tryin' to get control
Pressure's takin' its toll
Stuck in the middle zone
I just want you alone
My guessing game is strong
Way too real to be wrong
Caught up in your show
Yeah, at least now I know

It wasn't love, it wasn't love
It was a perfect illusion (perfect illusion)
Mistaken for love, it wasn't love
It was a perfect illusion (perfect illusion)
You were a perfect illusion

I don't need eyes to see
I felt you touchin' me
High like amphetamine
Maybe you're just a dream
That's what it means to crush
Now that I'm wakin' up
I still feel the blow
But at least now I know

It wasn't love, it wasn't love
It was a perfect illusion (perfect illusion)
Mistaken for love, it wasn't love
It was a perfect illusion (perfect illusion)

I'm over the show
Yeah at least now I know

It was perfect illusion
Somewhere in all the confusion
You were so perfect
You were a, you were a perfect illusion

My LO actually asked me at one point if I had heard this song. He said 'I know this isn't your style of music, but have you heard of this song by Kesha?' Of course I had, he had mentioned it a few days previously and I had already downloaded it to my phone =)) so I innocently said 'Yeah, this one?' and played it. Sheesh what a moment that was (again, feeling like a lovesick 13 year old here! We were both 35 at the time!):

Maybe I need some rehab
Or maybe just need some sleep
I've got a sick obsession
I'm seeing it in my dreams
I'm looking down every alley
I'm making those desperate calls
I'm staying up all night hoping
Hitting my head against the wall

What you've got, boy, is hard to find
I think about it all the time
I'm all strung out, my heart is fried
I just can't get you off my mind

Because your love, your love, your love is my drug
Your love, your love, your love
I said your love, your love, your love is my drug
Your love, your love, your love

Won't listen to any advice
Momma's telling me I should think twice
Better left to my own advice?
I'm addicted, it's a crisis
My friends think I've gone crazy
My judgment's getting kinda hazy
My sleep is gonna be affected
If I keep it up like a lovesick crack head

What you got, boy, is hard to find
I think about it all the time
I'm all strung out, my heart is fried
I just can't get you off my mind

Because your love, your love, your love is my drug
Your love, your love, your love
I said your love, your love, your love is my drug
Your love, your love, your love

I don't care what people say
The rush is worth the price I pay
I get so high when you're with me
But crash and crave you when you leave
etc...

That song fits perfectly. Meh, only 35?
I am 51, LO is 52 (the older man)
Thanks for sharing this!

Nothing drives my limerent heart into more of a tailspin during deep winter than these expressive rhythms....

I struggled with this one. "The Revenge of Vera Gemini" (BOC) is a little . . . proactive. /:) But it does capture some of the hostilities.

You're boned like a saint
With the consciousness of a snake

You're the kind of girl
I'd like to find
Face like an angel
But you're boned like the devil

Your eyes have shifted from me
Everyone saw what you did
You have slipped from beneath me
Like a false nervous squid

Oh, no more horses, horses
We're going to swim like a fish
Into the hole in which you planned to ditch me
My lovely
Vera Marie

Planned to leave me cold
But you'll never get your wish
On the twenty fourth of May
I gather up your reins

You filled me with a vengeance
And you touched me with your breath
I'm gonna pull you from this dance
You're gonna ride so easily

Oh, no more horses, horses
We're going to swim like a fish
Into the hole in which you planned to ditch me
My lovely
Vera Marie

Hey! Come on, Vera

Oh, no more horses, horses
We're going to swim like a fish
Into the hole in which you planned to ditch me
My lovely
Vera Marie

I was your victim
I was well deceived
Hell's built on regret
But I love your naked neck

And evil lies that you told me
Made me believe you're two-faced
But there's two faces have you
And they're both gonna jump

Oh, no more horses, horses
We're going to swim like a fish
Into the hole in which you planned to ditch me
My lovely
Vera Marie
